Step-by-step guide to updating your password
  1. Navigate to your profile icon in the top-right corner
  2. Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu
  3. Click on the "Security" tab
  4. Find the "Change Password" section
  5. Enter your current password
  6. Enter your new password (must meet security requirements)
  7. Confirm your new password by entering it again
  8. Click "Update Password" to save changes

You'll receive a confirmation email once your password has been successfully changed.

Security criteria for your new password

Your new password must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 8 characters long
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • Contains at least one lowercase letter (a-z)
  • Contains at least one number (0-9)
  • Contains at least one special character (!@#$%^&*)
  • Cannot be the same as your previous 5 passwords
  • Cannot contain your email address or username

Best Practices

  • Use a unique password for Ascentia (don't reuse passwords from other sites)
  • Consider using a passphrase with multiple words
  • Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
  • Avoid common words, phrases, or patterns
  • Don't use personal information (birthdays, names, etc.)
  • Use a password manager to generate and store complex passwords

How to reset your password if you can't remember it

If you've forgotten your current password:

  1. Go to the Ascentia login page
  2. Click "Forgot Password?" below the login form
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your email for a password reset link
  5. Click the link (valid for 1 hour)
  6. Create a new password
  7. Log in with your new password

Password change not working?

Make sure you're entering your current password correctly and that your new password meets all requirements.

Didn't receive confirmation email?

Check your spam folder. If still not found, contact support to verify the change was successful.

Getting locked out?

After 5 failed password attempts, your account will be temporarily locked for 15 minutes for security.
