How to Downgrade
Step-by-step guide to downgrading your subscription
  1. Log in to your Ascentia account
  2. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu
  4. Navigate to the "Subscription" tab
  5. Click "Change Plan" button
  6. Select the plan you want to downgrade to
  7. Review the feature changes and new pricing
  8. Click "Confirm Downgrade"
  9. Read the confirmation message about when changes take effect
  10. Confirm your decision

The downgrade will be scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period, allowing you to continue using your current plan's features until then.

When Changes Take Effect
Understanding the downgrade timeline

End of Billing Period

Unlike upgrades which take effect immediately, downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing period. This means:

  • You continue to have full access to your current plan's features
  • You've already paid for the current period, so you get to use what you paid for
  • The downgrade automatically processes on your next renewal date
  • You'll be charged the lower rate starting from your next billing cycle

Canceling a Scheduled Downgrade

Changed your mind? You can cancel a scheduled downgrade anytime before it takes effect:

  1. Go to Account Settings → Subscription
  2. You'll see a notice about your scheduled downgrade
  3. Click "Cancel Downgrade"
  4. Your current plan will continue automatically
What Changes After Downgrading

From Pro to Basic

When downgrading from Pro to Basic, you'll lose access to:

  • Unlimited Trades: Limited to 50 trades per month
  • Ascentio AI: No AI-powered insights or recommendations
  • Advanced Analytics: Only basic performance metrics available
  • Broker Integration: No auto-import from brokers
  • Data Export: Cannot export data in CSV or PDF
  • Custom Tags: Limited tag functionality
  • Priority Support: Standard support with 48-hour response time

From Enterprise to Pro

When downgrading from Enterprise to Pro, you'll lose:

  • Multi-User Access: Only single-user account
  • API Access: No custom integrations
  • Custom Broker Connections: Limited to supported brokers only
  • Advanced Reporting: Standard reports only
  • Dedicated Support: Priority support instead of dedicated account manager
  • White-Label Options: Standard Ascentia branding
  • SLA Guarantee: No uptime commitment
Data Preservation
Your information remains safe

When you downgrade, all your data is preserved and remains accessible:

  • Trade History: All trades remain in your journal
  • Notes and Screenshots: Preserved and accessible
  • Historical Analytics: Past performance data is retained
  • Tags and Categories: Custom organization remains intact

Feature-Specific Data

Some data related to premium features is preserved but not accessible on lower tiers:

  • AI Insights: Previous AI analysis is saved but you can't generate new insights
  • Advanced Reports: Existing reports are saved but you can't create new ones
  • Broker Connections: Integration settings are saved for if you upgrade again

If you upgrade again in the future, all this data becomes accessible again immediately.

Trade Limit Considerations
Important information for Pro to Basic downgrades

Monthly Trade Limit

Basic plan includes 50 trades per month. If you're currently logging more than 50 trades monthly on Pro, consider:

  • Your existing trades are never deleted, regardless of the limit
  • You can view all historical trades even on Basic plan
  • The 50-trade limit only applies to new trades added each month
  • The limit resets on the 1st of each month

What Happens If You Exceed the Limit

If you reach 50 trades in a month on Basic plan:

  • You'll receive a notification when you're close to the limit
  • You can't add new trades until the next month
  • You can still view, edit, and analyze existing trades
  • You can upgrade to Pro anytime to remove the limit immediately
Refunds and Credits
Understanding billing adjustments

No Partial Refunds

Since downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period, there are no partial refunds. You've already paid for your current period, and you'll continue to have access to all features until the downgrade takes effect.

Annual Subscriptions

If you're on an annual plan and want to downgrade:

  • The downgrade is scheduled for the end of your annual period
  • You'll have access to your current plan for the full year you paid for
  • No prorated refunds are provided for unused time
  • Your new lower-tier plan begins on your next annual renewal date

Pause Your Subscription

If you need a temporary break, consider pausing instead of downgrading:

  • Pause for up to 3 months without losing your plan
  • No charges during the pause period
  • All data and settings preserved
  • Resume anytime with the same plan and features

Switch to Annual Billing

Save 17% by switching from monthly to annual billing instead of downgrading. This keeps all your features at a lower effective monthly cost.

Student or Educator Discount

If you're a student or educator, you may qualify for a 30% discount on any plan. Contact support to verify your eligibility.
