The Calendar View provides a visual representation of your trading activity, showing at a glance which days you traded, your daily P&L, and patterns in your trading behavior. It's an essential tool for identifying trends and optimizing your trading schedule.
Key Features

From the Main Dashboard
- Log in to your Ascentia account
- Click "Journal" or "Calendar" in the main navigation
- Select "Calendar View" from the view options
- Your trading calendar will display with the current month
Quick Access

- The journal page view switcher
- The analytics section
- Mobile app bottom navigation
Color Scheme
- Dark Green: Highly profitable day (above average win)
- Light Green: Profitable day (positive P&L)
- Gray: No trades or break-even day
- Light Red: Losing day (negative P&L)
- Dark Red: Significant loss day (above average loss)
Intensity Levels
The intensity of the color indicates the magnitude of profit or loss:
- Darker shades = larger profits or losses
- Lighter shades = smaller profits or losses
- Hover over any day to see exact P&L amount
Month Navigation
- Use arrow buttons to move forward/backward by month
- Click the month/year header to open a date picker
- Select any month and year to jump directly to it
- Use "Today" button to return to current month
Viewing Trade Details
- Click on any day in the calendar
- A popup or side panel will show all trades from that day
- View summary statistics for the day
- Click individual trades to see full details
- Edit or add trades directly from the calendar view
Monthly Summary
At the top or bottom of the calendar, you'll see:
- Total P&L: Net profit/loss for the month
- Trading Days: Number of days you traded
- Win Rate: Percentage of profitable days
- Best Day: Highest profit day
- Worst Day: Largest loss day
- Average Daily P&L: Mean profit/loss per trading day
Streak Tracking
The calendar also tracks:
- Current winning or losing streak
- Longest winning streak in the period
- Longest losing streak in the period
- Consecutive trading days
Day of Week Patterns
Look for patterns by day of week:
- Are Mondays typically green or red?
- Do you perform better mid-week?
- Are Fridays more volatile?
- Should you avoid trading on certain days?
Overtrading Detection
The calendar helps identify overtrading:
- Too many consecutive trading days without breaks
- High trade counts on losing days (revenge trading)
- Trading every single day regardless of conditions
- Increased activity after losses
Seasonal Trends
View multiple months to identify:
- Which months are most profitable
- Seasonal patterns in your performance
- Times of year to be more cautious
- Optimal trading periods for your strategy
Quick Add Feature
- Click the "+" button on any calendar day
- Or double-click an empty day
- A quick-add trade form will appear
- Enter basic trade details
- Click "Save" to add the trade to that date
Bulk Import
You can also import multiple trades and see them populate the calendar:
- Import from broker statements
- Upload CSV files
- Connect trading platforms
- Watch trades appear on their respective dates
Display Options
- Show/Hide Trade Count: Display number of trades per day
- P&L Display Format: Show as dollar amount or percentage
- Color Intensity: Adjust sensitivity of color coding
- Week Start Day: Choose Sunday or Monday as week start
- Compact View: Fit more months on screen
Filtering
Filter the calendar to show only:
- Specific instruments or markets

- Long or short positions only
- Trades above/below certain P&L thresholds
