Best Practices
Tips for effective data management and backup

Regular Backups

Export your data regularly (at least monthly) to maintain a backup of your trading history. Store exports in multiple locations for redundancy.

Version Control

Include the date in your export filenames (e.g., "trades_2025_01.csv") to maintain a historical record of your data.

Data Privacy

Exported files contain sensitive trading information. Store them securely and avoid sharing them publicly or via unsecured channels.

Tax Preparation

Export your annual trading data at year-end for tax preparation. CSV format is ideal for sharing with accountants.

Troubleshooting
Common export issues and solutions

Export Failed or Incomplete

If your export fails or appears incomplete, try reducing the date range or removing filters. Very large exports (10,000+ trades) may need to be split into smaller chunks.

File Won't Open

Ensure you're using compatible software for the file format. CSV files require spreadsheet software, JSON files need a text editor or JSON viewer, and PDF files need a PDF reader.

Missing Data

Check your export filters and date range settings. Some data may be excluded based on your filter criteria.

Large File Size

If your export file is too large, consider excluding screenshots or splitting the export into multiple date ranges.
